Urinary disorders (dysuric disorders), which accompany the course of many diseases of the urinary and reproductive system, represent a significant problem for patients, creating both banal inconvenience and significantly reducing the quality of life. Constant attachment to the toilet, urogenital discomfort, imperative urges, leakage, and often urinary incontinence are what inevitably reduce the activity of patients’ lives, disrupt sleep, create social isolation, and even disability of the patient. The disease burden of urinary disorder is most often a problem not only for patients, but also for their families. Maladjustment due to problems with the bladder leads to significant neuroticism, forms inferiority complexes, astheno-depressive and anxiety disorders, reduces the patient’s self-esteem and can even be the cause of suicidal attempts. In addition to inconvenience, many bladder problems are associated with the risk of developing purely medical complications – infection, stone formation and impaired kidney function.
Since urinary disturbances and disorders are inherent in many different diseases, the problem of diagnosing and treating these diseases is often a non-trivial task that requires special knowledge and experience, often specialized methodological and instrumental means, interaction between specialists in various fields and appropriate motivation of the patient.
